1. Who We Are

Kidz Playlist ("the app," "we," "us," or "our") is published by Insert Click LLC, based in Texas, USA. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use Kidz Playlist on Android or iOS devices.

By downloading, installing, or using Kidz Playlist, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Please also review our Terms of Service, which govern your use of the app.

2. Information We Process

Kidz Playlist has no user accounts, analytics services, advertising SDKs, or cross-app trackers. We do not receive child profile names, parent PINs, time limits, or local watch history.

When a parent searches for or approves YouTube content, our API service processes the search text, YouTube video or channel identifier, and related request parameters. It temporarily caches YouTube API responses for up to 6 hours. For abuse prevention, it also stores a per-network search count keyed by the request's IP address for up to 48 hours. These records are not connected to an account, child profile, advertising identifier, or local watch history and expire automatically.

We do not request or intentionally collect:

• Names, email addresses, or other contact information
• Precise location or advertising identifiers
• Child profile names, local watch history, or parent PINs
• Crash reports or usage analytics
• Photos, contacts, microphone recordings, or other device content

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

To provide its features, the app stores the following data on your device using a local database and encrypted device storage. Family profile data, the parent PIN, time limits, and watch sessions are not sent to us. YouTube identifiers and search terms are used in network requests as described in Section 4.

4. YouTube API Services

Kidz Playlist uses the YouTube Data API to fetch information about videos and channels that parents search for and choose to approve (titles, thumbnails, publication dates, and channel metadata). These requests are routed through our Cloudflare-hosted API service, which forwards them to Google's servers. The service temporarily caches YouTube API responses for up to 6 hours and keeps a request count keyed by network IP address for up to 48 hours solely to prevent abuse and stay within API limits. It does not create user accounts or combine these records with child profiles, advertising identifiers, or watch history.

When a video is played, the app uses YouTube's official embedded player in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set tracking cookies unless a video is actually played. Playback requests go directly from your device to YouTube/Google.

Beyond the temporary server-side caching described above, we do not receive, intercept, or store any data from these interactions except caching the video metadata (title, thumbnail URL, etc.) locally on your device for display purposes. Locally stored YouTube metadata is refreshed automatically when the app syncs approved channels, and is deleted when you remove the content or the app.

Your use of YouTube content through the app is subject to:

Google may collect information about your device and usage when videos are fetched or played. Please review Google's Privacy Policy for details on their data practices.

5. Children's Privacy

Kidz Playlist is intended for children and is set up and controlled by a parent or legal guardian. On the Apple App Store it is listed in the Kids Category. We designed it to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation including Article 8 (GDPR-K), and comparable children's privacy laws.

• We do not collect personal information from children. The app does not ask a child to create an account, sign in, or provide a name, email address, phone number, photo, or location.
• No behavioural tracking or profiling. The app contains no third-party analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no attribution or measurement SDK, and no cross-app tracker. We do not build a profile of any child and do not use any advertising identifier.
• No social features. There is no chat, messaging, commenting, sharing, or user-generated content of any kind.
• No links out of the app. A child using the app cannot navigate to the open web, to YouTube's own website or app, or to any advertiser. The video player blocks all navigation away from the approved video.
• No purchases. Kidz Playlist is a one-time paid app with no in-app purchases.
• Everything about the child stays on the device. Child profile names and avatars, the parent PIN, approvals, time limits, and watch history are stored only on the device and are never transmitted to us.
• Parental control. All approvals, profiles, and settings sit behind a parent PIN. A child cannot add content, change limits, or alter settings.

We designed Kidz Playlist to minimize data processing and to keep family-control data on the device. Parents should review Google's privacy practices and the content they approve for their children.

Parents with questions about their child's data, or who wish to have any temporary service record reviewed or deleted, may contact us. Because the app has no accounts and the temporary records described above are not linked to a profile, we may need additional detail to locate a specific record, and such records expire automatically within the periods stated above.

If you believe that a child has somehow provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will investigate promptly.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent personal information. Limited service data is disclosed only as necessary to provide YouTube search, metadata, and playback:

• We do not sell personal information.
• Cloudflare hosts our API service and processes network requests under its privacy terms.
• Google/YouTube receives YouTube search parameters, content identifiers, and playback requests under Google's privacy terms.
• We do not operate an ad network or share family profile data with advertisers. YouTube may show ads during playback. We do not control, target, or receive revenue from them.
• We do not share data with analytics providers. The app contains no analytics.
• We do not share data with data brokers.
• We may disclose limited records when legally required. Our service retains only the temporary cache and rate-limit records described above.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All app data is stored locally on your device and is under your complete control:

• To delete specific data: Remove child profiles, approved videos, or channels within the app's parent area.
• To delete all data: Uninstall the app. All locally stored data (the database and secure storage) is permanently removed when the app is uninstalled.
• Temporary service records: Cached YouTube responses expire within 6 hours, and IP-based rate-limit records expire within 48 hours. Because there are no user accounts and these records are not tied to a profile, we generally cannot identify a particular person's temporary record.

8. Data Security

We take care to protect information stored on your device and the limited service requests described in this policy:

• Your parent PIN is stored as a one-way SHA-256 cryptographic hash in the device's encrypted secure storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain). The original PIN cannot be recovered from this hash.
• All other app data is stored in a local SQLite database within the app's sandboxed storage area, which is protected by the operating system's app isolation.
• Network requests to our API service and Google/YouTube use HTTPS.

9. Third-Party Services

The app communicates with Cloudflare, which hosts our API service, and YouTube/Google, which provides content metadata and playback, as described in Section 4.

The app does not include:

• Advertising frameworks or ad networks
• Analytics or crash reporting services
• Social media integrations
• Push notification services
• Third-party authentication providers

10. Content Disclaimer

Kidz Playlist does not create, host, curate, or moderate the content available on YouTube. The parent makes all decisions about which videos and channels to approve or block for each child.

Because content originates from YouTube, we cannot guarantee its accuracy, availability, suitability, or compliance with any particular standard. Some videos may become unavailable, change in content, or be restricted by YouTube after a parent has approved them.

11. International Users

Kidz Playlist is published from Texas, USA. Family-control data remains on your device, but the limited YouTube API and playback requests described above may be processed in the United States or other countries where Cloudflare and Google operate.

12. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and others), you may have rights regarding your personal data, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data. Most Kidz Playlist data is local and under your control:

• Access & portability: All your data is on your device, accessible within the app.
• Correction: Edit any profile or setting directly in the app.
• Deletion: Delete profiles, videos, or channels in the app, or uninstall to remove everything.
• Temporary service data: API cache and rate-limit records expire automatically and are not associated with an account. Contact us if you have a privacy question or request.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the app or on our website.

Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
